Joshua Timmer
Program & Operations Facilitator
Growing up in rural Vermont, Joshua developed a deep connection to nature that shaped much of his life. This connection drew him toward challenging pursuits like rock and ice climbing, which fostered a sense of adventure and resilience. These experiences pushed his physical and mental limits, while also grounding him in the simplicity and beauty of the outdoors. Joshua’s love for nature and desire for personal growth has always been intertwined, influencing many of the paths he’s taken.
A significant paradigm shift in Joshua’s journey came on July 18, 2022, when he made the life-changing decision to get sober. With the support of a primary treatment program, he embraced a commitment to self-improvement, prioritizing not just his own recovery but also the wellbeing of those around him. This period of transformation helped him discover a deep sense of purpose and has since fueled his passion for giving back. Whether through sharing his story or offering guidance to others in recovery, he has become a source of inspiration for many who face similar challenges.
Throughout his life, Joshua has worn many hats—from working as a meat cutter to earning his private pilot’s license in Florida. These diverse roles have showcased his determination, adaptability, and drive to master new skills. As he moves forward, he is focused on using his experiences to positively impact his community, whether by supporting those in recovery or leveraging his talents in new ways. Joshua’s story is one of resilience, growth, and giving back, and he remains committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of others.
