Sergio Velarde, LCSW, CCS
Clinical Director
Sergio brings nearly 20 years of experience in behavioral health to his role as Clinical Director at Foundation House. Throughout his career, he’s combined direct clinical care with leadership in program design and system improvement, always with the goal of helping people access services in ways that feel compassionate, effective, and sustainable.
Before joining Foundation House, Sergio served as Regional Clinical Director for Savida Health, where he oversaw integrated behavioral health and medical services across Maine. He also helped lead statewide initiatives to expand healthcare access for justice-involved individuals, reflecting his passion for building programs that prioritize clients’ individual needs. His background includes leadership roles in both community and corporate healthcare settings, giving him a broad perspective on how to create lasting change.
Sergio holds a Master of Social Work from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Illinois University. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maine, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and fluent in Spanish.
Outside of work, Sergio stays busy keeping up with his three kids, exploring the Maine outdoors, and cooking for family and friends. He also has a dog and a cat he swears he never wanted—but somehow, he’s become their favorite human.
