Joe is a Maine native, growing up just across the bay in South Portland. He graduated from The University of Southern Maine with a degree in communication and environmental science. He then spent time working on a farm in Italy where he developed a passion for sustainable living. Joe is a problem solver by nature and has spent much of his working life in project-based roles that have grown his preservation, building, and renovation skill sets. He was drawn to the mission of Foundation House, as he holds a profound belief in the capacity for positive change through human connection and emersion in the natural world.

Joe is a lifelong athlete who skates, runs, hikes, swims, and bikes whenever possible. He lives on a hobby farm in Freeport with his wife and animals. When not at work, he spends his time exercising, reading, traveling, renovating his old home, and eating pastries.
